Exit aid for those affected of sexual exploitation

At our location in Hamburg, we offer exit aid in the form of sheltered accommodation for women who want to leave situations of sexual exploitation.

Shelter and exit aid for women being sexually exploited

Our support includes:

  • Telephone counseling
  • Referrals
  • Ambulant assistance
  • anonymous shelter
  • Aftercare following departure

The collaboration is determined by the individual goals, possibilities, needs, and resources of each person leaving the scene.

The focus of our services is on providing assistance within the framework of the anonymous shelter.

Exit aid with anonymous accommodation

We offer a combination of shelter and counseling to help women leave prostitution:

  • Accommodation in a single room and use of shared facilities at HOME
  • Anonymous address and counseling on safety issues
  • Regular counseling and support in leaving prostitution
  • Support in coming to terms with the situation emotionally
  • Pastoral care based on Christian beliefs (if desired)
  • Additional services to help with everyday life

This support is for

A place in our shelter is primarily for adult women who

  • want to leave prostitution/sexual exploitation
  • want to start a new life indepentend of prostitution
  • have basic self-sufficiency in everyday life (e.g., shopping and cooking independently)

This applies to all women regardless of their origin, religion, willingness to testify to the police, and their entitlement to benefits under the social law.

The support includes

Our housing provides a safe space to figure out new ways to move forward in life. It’s meant to be a temporary accommodation, not a long-term housing solution.

Housing at MISSION FREEDOM HOME is only provided after consultation with and at the request of the individuals concerned. A financial assessment is not strictly necessary in advance, as our facilities are financed by donations.

  • You can live with us for up to one year. (The period can be extended if necessary.)
  • If you have an income or receive social benefits, you pay monthly rent and contribute to household expenses. If you have no income, your stay will be covered by donations.
  • No staff are on site at weekends; there is an on-call service.

Requirements

  • Motivation to work together in the process of exit
  • Self-reflection and participation
  • Respect, consideration, and shared responsibility in living together
  • Compliance with joint protective measures in the residential group (applies to smartphone use and visitor contacts, among other things)
  • No alcohol, drugs, or prostitution

About MISSION FREEDOM e.V.

As a non-profit organization, MISSION FREEDOM e.V. has been working since 2011 to combat human trafficking for the purpose of sexual exploitation. In addition to prevention and awareness raising, we provide counseling, outreach in red-light districts, exit aid with housing options at two locations in Germany, and work in networks with other organizations.
